Rarely has a property related law matter caused the stir that HIPs have.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, The National Association of Estate Agents, and The Law Society all strongly opposed the introduction of HIPs and even the Commons select committee described them as “another failure of delivery from the government”: when the government did eventually introduce them they came in a “watered down” version which excluded the home condition report, arguably the most useful part of this ill conceived legislation.

However , like it or not , for the time being they seem to be here to stay and therefore in order to market your property we will require a HIP. This will include a list of contents of the HIP, an Energy Performance Certificate, a Sale Statement, Evidence of ownership of the property, Searches, and Tenure details.
